Historical Archives

From the 1952 'Makio'. The caption reads 'Another Strollers production is born.' (click to enlarge)     The archives of the Scarlet Mask Society, including all available information on Strollers Theatrics, Strollers Student Theatrics, and the Dramatic Society of Ohio State have been donated to the Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee Theatre Research Institute at the Ohio State University for preservation, protection and public use.
Before the archive was created at TRI, the historical artifacts of the organization were passed down each year to the organization's historian, who would often keep the boxes at their home till the next year when a new historian was elected.
Recognizing the importance of these documents to the history of Ohio State and the Scarlet Mask Society, they have been given to the library for safe-keeping.
The Theatre Research Institute is located at 1430 Lincoln Tower, 1800 Cannon Drive, in Columbus, Ohio on campus at the Ohio State University. Access to the archive is available by appointment. Call (614)292-6614 to schedule an appoint. Please contact Nena Couch, the TRI Resident Curator for more information.
