Scarlet Mask Joins with THAW to Promote Peace - (Posted 10/11/04)
At the last Executive Committee meeting, the board of the Scarlet Mask Society unanimously approved a proposal to support the national organization, Theatres Against War(THAW).
The national organization, based out of New York City, is an international network of theater artists responding to the United States' ongoing "War on Terror", aggressive and unilateral foreign policies, and escalating attacks on civil liberties in the US and throughout the world.
In support of this issue, the Scarlet Mask Society is producing George Orwell's classic 1984 with an all-male casting to help raise awareness to the human rights violations in our own country. Performance dates are October 28, 29 and 31. For more information on this production, please

    Crew sought for 1984 - (Posted 9/27/04)
Scarlet Mask is actively seeking individuals interested in working on the crew for the upcoming production of 1984. We are looking for a stage manager who will be able to help out at each of the rehearsals and run the show after it opens. We are also looking for people interested in working with lights, sound, and costumes. 1984 will also need a couple of backstage crew hands to help behind-the-scenes. If you are interested in working on the crew for this production, or any of the Scarlet Mask Society programs, please e-mail the producer, Liz Botros, at
    botros.1@osu.edu.

Directing Proposals Now Being Accepted - (Posted 9/27/04)
Directing with Scarlet Mask can be one of the most rewarding ways to get involved in the organization. You get to pick the production. You get to pick the cast. While experience in directing is helpful and appreciated, any OSU student may apply to direct a production. Simply fill out a
directing proposal, complete a prospective budget for your production, and then e-mail it to Eric Colleary and Liz Botros. Your proposal will then be brought up at the next Executive Board Meeting. We are currently accepting proposals for Winter and Spring quarters. Apply soon, as deadlines are approaching fast!
